Described as “One of England’s Greatest Treasures” Highgate is the final resting place of many famous names including writers Christina Rossetti, Adam Douglas, George Eliot (Mary Ann Evans), Radclyffe Hall, Karl Marx and my own personal favourite from today, chemist and physicist Michael Faraday.

This December, I had the opportunity to visit Charles Dickens’ old home in London and watch the classic 1951, Alastair Sim’s version of “A Christmas Carol” – an unreal and haunting experience just to sit there and watch this picture in the same place where Charles Dickens would sit and write.

Stratford-Upon-Avon and it really is a beautiful town – you get a hint of how Shakespeare could have been inspired! Shakespeare’s birthplace is itself enchanting with magnificent grounds and we even had readings and re-enactments out in the gardens and everyone felt welcomed.
